California Optical
Laboratories Association (COLA)
Serving California Eyecare Professionals for More than
50 Years
Founded in 1957, the California Optical Laboratories
Association is an organization of full-service
optical laboratories from California and other Western states.
Annual Meeting and Educational Seminars
We hold one meeting every year, with a minimum of six
hours of educational seminars on subjects directly
affecting laboratories and lab customers. These meetings
provide opportunities for colleagues from all levels of
the industry to share opinions and viewpoints and
provide COLA laboratories and their customers a unique
status in the American ophthalmic community.
COLA
Projects
COLA
members participate in projects that strengthen the
relationship between laboratories and eyecare
professionals. Annual scholarships are awarded to
deserving optometric students, glasses are fabricated by
COLA members for the working poor and COLA has supplied
optical products for Special Olympic contestants.
Political Action
When
political issues impact the ophthalmic industry, COLA
works at the legislative level to present the views of
laboratories and eyecare professionals.
Unequaled Services
As a result of
more than 45 years of industry involvement, COLA
laboratories provide services unequaled anywhere else.
Web
Site Communications
This
web site is intended to serve as a
communication link for keeping COLA members informed and
up-to-date on industry issues. It is also an educational
resource for COLA labs to keep their customers, the eyecare professions, informed on the fast-changing lens
information they need in caring for the eyes of
America.
